SPROUTS - Sept. 29. - Simple Truth: I Am Known

Theme Verse: “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

Session 5: God Values You

Bible Story: Jesus and the Children (Matthew 19:13-15; Mark 10:13-16)

Families,

This week is a special Game Changer session where we get to celebrate how Jesus changes the game! In our Bible story from Matthew 19:13-15 and Mark 10:13-16, we will see that Jesus valued children. Jesus’ friends, the disciples, were trying to keep children away from Jesus. They wanted Jesus to be able to focus on more “important” things. But Jesus welcomed the children, showing His love and care for them. Jesus values, loves, and cares for your children too. He loves them so much that He invites them to have a relationship with Him. Jesus is a game changer!

Invite your kids to gather their five most valuable possessions. Then ask them to rank those possessions in order from least to most valuable. It will be hard! Use this as a time to talk about how Jesus values everyone the same—adults and kids! Jesus loves them, values them, and wants to have a relationship with them.

Session 5: God Values You

Bible Story: Jesus and the Children (Matthew 19:13-15; Mark 10:13-16)

Families,

This week is a special Hooray Day, and preschoolers will learn that God values them. In Matthew 19:13-15 and Mark 10:13-16, Jesus showed that He valued children by inviting them to come to Him when others were trying to keep them away. Preschoolers can know that God knows them, values them, and loves them so much. He thinks they’re important and sent Jesus so they can have a friendship with Him.

Invite your preschoolers to draw and color a self-portrait. Tell your preschoolers how valuable and important they are. Let them know that God loves them and thinks they’re valuable too!
