Simple Truth: God Gives Me Friends
Theme Verse: “Consider others as more important than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3b)
Big Deal: Hey, Hi, Hello! God Gives Me Friends
Bible Story: Peter’s Friends Prayed (Acts 12:1-17)
Families,
We’re ready to say Hey, Hi, Hello this November as we teach preschoolers the Simple Truth, “God Gives Me Friends.” God made us for community, and preschoolers will explore and discover that we can pray for, help, cheer on, and learn from our friends.
This week preschoolers will learn that I can pray for my friends. In Acts 12:1-17, a follower of Jesus named Peter was imprisoned for telling others about Jesus. The night before he was to be executed, Peter’s friends prayed diligently to God for him. As Peter’s friends prayed, an angel came and freed Peter, leading him to safety and to his friends. Preschoolers can know that we can pray for our friends and ask God to help them.
This week, as you sit down to eat as a family or as you drive in the car, remind your preschoolers that we can talk to God and pray for our friends. Talk about friends you can pray for as a family, then stop and pray for these friends.
Check out Hyfi At Home for fun family engagement around last week’s Bible story.
