TITLE:  Director of Youth
REPORTS TO:
  Executive Director
ROLE:  To build and lead a ministry to middle and high school students, and their parents so they experience the Word, Worship, Community and Mission of Restore.
TIME COMMITMENT:  Part-Time 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
VISION AND GOALS PLANNING
:  Provide vision, definition of core values and determination of key ministry goals consistent with the vision and purposes of Restore Church.
ORGANIZING: Develop and lead an organizational structure that will involve as many volunteers as possible in the ministry.
STAFFING:  Recruit and train a leadership team that will work as volunteers in every aspect of the ministry.
COACHING:  Provide continual support and mentoring to the leadership.
EVALUATING:  Regularly and systematically evaluate the progress and success of the ministry in all areas with a teachable and humble attitude.
UTILIZING contemporary resources to maintain an excellent understanding of youth culture in order to design effective strategies to reach and disciple students.
PROGRAMMING plan regular gathering for students to engage with the word, leaders, and each other.
TEACHING topics will be planned in advance and tracked for the three or four years students are in middle school or high school.
FOCUSING students as growing disciples in six behaviors: worship, prayer, small groups, serving, giving, and outreach.
REACHING unchurched teens in our area through a variety of culturally relevant events, gatherings and activities.
SERVICE PROJECTS that engage students in meaningful experiences and take them out of their normal experience.
PLANNING and overseeing the youth budget.
CONNECTING with people, worship, and teaching by attending the worship service each week; develop strategies to integrate students into the general church life through participation in other ministries, service projects, and attending worship services.
RESOURCING PARENTS of teens through workshops, seminars and orientations to develop faith at home.  Conduct parent orientations for incoming freshmen and middle schoolers.
FOLLOW UP with parents or potential volunteers who express interest in youth ministries.
AVAILABLE for pastoral ministry; performing weddings and funerals if needed.
BALANCING church ministry commitments with family ministry and personal growth.
NETWORKING with other leaders in the same ministry field

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Good communication skills, especially effective with volunteers, members, and attendees.
2.   Good personal organization skills
3.   Sound administrative skills
4.   Enthusiastic and eager to learn
5.   A strong desire to reach the unchurched for Christ balanced with an effective approach to discipling the more spiritually mature.
6.   Developer of others to do the work of the ministry
7.   Good transparency
8.   Easy for students to get along and identify with
9. Genuine dependency on prayer
10. Team player
11. Teachable attitude; collaborative leadership style
12. Be or become a member of Restore Church
13. Strong biblical foundation; Bible College or Seminary degree a big plus
14. Has developed an effective plan to recruit, train, and encourage youth volunteers.
